Stop Elder Abuse

Stop elder abuse - hands

Hundreds of thousands of elderly people are being abused in their own homes. It can involve physical abuse or neglect and sometimes financial mistreatment. The UK Study of Abuse and Neglect report said the survey meant as many as 342,000 older people might have been victims of abuse, ranging from financial fraud to emotional abuse and even assault.

My Father was comfortable and surrounded by his family. He remarried after I feel he was groomed for abuse. He was isolated from his family by classic techniques. Unfortunately unless you have experienced first hand you dont see whats happening until its too late and the elder remarries for example and the criminal activities become a "family matter" which will not attract much attention from the law or health services.

What I want to do with this site, the forums and FaceBook is to educate and aim for a society where we are as outraged by the abuse and neglect of an older person as we are by the abuse of a child, and we are a long, long way from it.

"People don't want to be involved with it."
